1) Turmeric is a signature spice commonly used in Asian food. It is yellow in colour and has a bitter taste. Its roots are widely used to make medicine. It contains curcumin and other chemicals which helps decrease inflammation.

2) Pineapple is a tropical fruit. It contains a key enzyme called bromelain, which is surprisingly good at bringing down inflammation. It makes the body to produce substances that fight pain and swelling.

3) Oats are high in magnesium, a mineral that helps reduce painful muscle spasms. A cup of cooked oat bran provides more than 20% of the daily value.

4) Peppermint oil is applied directly onto the skin for treating headache, muscle pain, nerve pain and inflammation of the mouth. When applied on the skin, it warms the surface, which helps reduce the pain beneath the skin. It is also used as a painkiller.

5) Sea Salt (Epsom), also known as bay salt, is produced by evaporating salt from the water bodies. It has excellent anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce irritation and swelling.

6) Yogurt is a food produced by the bacterial fermentation of milk. It is very effective against inflammation and arthritis. It reduces production of chemicals in the body that trigger swelling in the joints and helps regulate blood sugar. The bacteria found in yogurt also helps in nourishing the entire immune system and improve the body’s efficiency at absorbing essential nutrients.
